Awesome work dude, thats a Nice EB...

Im doing a sorta similar thing.... I just bought an Immaculate Black EB Series 1 Fairmont and they dont come with power windows, smartlock or abs. So im doing the complete loom and components from my ED fairmont into the EB Fairmont should be fun lol.

if you've still gotta remove everything from the EF i don't think you'll have it done over 4 days.

Thanks for the comments guys!

I will be sure to take some pics and what not for everyone.

edfairmont4.0 - Thanks mate, unfortunatly the paint is alot s**t than photos reveal, but after this weekend that'll be the only thing needing to be fixed. Hope to see a thread on your car soon! I love them in Black.

effalcon - I have already removed the rear seat, and trims, but thats it. Although, i have done similar conversions in less time when i was a bit younger, i think i'll still get it done, if i don't drink too much. LOL.

I'm planning on having the new loom, engine, dash, crapet and seats in by saturday night, then drive it home sunday to put the door trims, interior trimming, rear seat, console, and remaining stuff in.

---Thats the plan anyway, stay tuned to see how it all goes!!

Andrew. :)

Hey guys,

Day 2 of conversion, we have a a couple of problems, BENJ, i will be calling you soon if you don't mind!

One of the heater tubes on the ef heater box pulled out, not sure if i can silver solder it back in, or put the eb heater dore in, what a barstard jod!!!

And the factory ford alarm (WTF??) copped a bit of a knock when pulling it out, but hopefully it'l still be ok.

So far the farimont is completly stripped, and the falcon half stripped, but i had to have some sleep, unfortunatly i can't seem to pull overnighters anymore!

Stay tuned, if anyone has an answer for the heater prob, feel free to call me on 0438390766.

Thanks guys.

Ok,

We ran into some crazy problems, including the heater pipe breaking off, the alarm, some vac hose confusion, and even our other car splitting a heater hose while my missus was out picking up parts!! I had to drive a mates car out to fix it on the highway :(

Anyway, its all going, i still have to bore the hole in the floor for the handbrake cable, put the carpet and back seats in, and fit the stereo.

Firstly the Fairmont went in the garage to be stripped
Image
Image
The motor out for engine mount swap etc
Image
The trans fell off and dumped oil all over the floor, my dad was p****d as, however a bucket of sand fixed it
Image
Stripped
Image
Then it was the Falcons turn to be naked
Image
Image
And engine out, it had both mounts broken, but i kind of knew they where.
Image
Day two, breaky of champions
Image
The loom that goes through the drivers footweel looked close to being hit from the Fairmonts crash, so i had to thoughroly test this section
Image
Also, the hole for this does not exist in the EB, so i had to make one
Image
Image
My missus was helping all weekend, here she is fitting the electric windows
Image
My mate fitted all the front half of the EF loom, and got it all to fit quite well
Image
Anothe mate fitted the rear half and dash loom of the EF, and also installed the CC heater/ac unit.
Image
Meanwhile i noticed the stalk setups were not really interchangable due to the bracket, however, i was able to transfer the EF stalks switchs and loom onto the EB bracket
Image
Image
Here is the dash going in
Image
This is where i relocated the coilpacks to, due to them being mounted on the left engine mount from factory, they were unable to be fitted there with the EB mounts.
Image
And this is the last photo, still requiring a few finishing touches. You may notice the colour coded EF door handles.
Image

All in all, i ran short of a fair amount of time due to the laser losing its heater hose, but the finishing things will be done throughout this week.

Hope ya'll enjoy the read.

Andrew.

Thanks guys,

Swapping the loom in too made it very easy, and i think if i did it again, i would also do it like this again too.

Yes i will be doing the mirror conversion, and was going to this weekend, but one of the ef mirrors was broken, so i drilled the neccasary holes, so when i get another drivers mirror, they can both go straight on after some paint.

Excellent job.

I am very interested about the steering column switch swap. When you have time could you please elaborate a bit?

Looks great.

And it wouldn't be a real conversion without some mishaps
