Coming to think of it my extractors are to a 2.5 flange. There is a 2.5 flange and pipe welded to the factory cat housing, and it still has the factory pipe to the flange at the gearbox. And the centre pipe has a 2.25 on that end and a 2.5 at the rear. So in a way mine goes into a bottleneck. I wouldn't be fussed too much if your not looking for ultimate performance.
Can you get a cat with a 2.5-2.25 outlet? Or you could use a reducer pipe. Probably easiest.

my exhaust place said, best exhaust they put on near stock 6s for a bit more poke is: extractors with 2.5 collector. 2.5" cat. middle section of a 2.5" catback, single muffler. And the stock 2.25" rear section.
but if you're sticking with the stock exhaust, go extractors with 2.5 collector, and then a cat with 2.5" each end, and just lop one flange off and weld on the 2.25" flange. then if you ever change your mind and want a 2.5" catback, you can just weld a 2.5" flange on the cat, and bolt one on

Yeah EA-EL are the ones.
We can give advise but it is ultimately up to you. A full 2.5 with 2 mufflers isn't much louder than stock. You'd get a better flow and you'd still be happy with it. Decisions decisions... Lol...

Sorry i pressed back and it must have re submitted the message. I do want 2.5 all the way but I'm only 17 18 on Friday and i have a 7 month old daughter but when she's older I'm putting 2.5 all the way.

oh okay so in theory because he wouldnt let me but your saying i could take the extractors from my step dads au2 lane and they would fit if so that friggin awesome.
now i just noticed as i was driving my lane i can put my foot down and it doesnt rev up as fast as it did when i got it also when i got it i could plant my foot and the wheels would spin and leave a nice black line on the road but now when i do it it slowly creeps up to speed and doesnt spin em up. does anyone know why?

Yeah, I'm not so knowledgable on the Hey Youse, but at the wreckers I worked at they strapped a set off an EL to an AU.. Didn't think of that at the time... So yes EA-AU. I spotted the AU lane in one of your pics.. The only AUs I like, no ugly front, but the shape of the back window is a litle wierd.. Man, my daughter is bugging me to get the Lowlane going again. She loves it! Having kids don't mean you gotta keep the lane tame, you just need to have the maturity to drive sensibly when they are in the car. The "safety features" I call them. Don't think kids are a restriction to your car.. In a years time your girls gonna one out and crawl under the car with you while your working on it.. And your gonna love it. I remember mine "fixing" her pram with a screwdriver asking me to help. My son who is just over 1 makes a "KKRRRR" skidding noise and waits for me to do a little handbrake stop as I pull in the driveway. He cracks up laughing. He laughs at the g forces when I push his pram quickly.. As for your noticing a driving difference, I call it the "adjustment effect". A case of general wear and tear. Remember how over time your GI Joes arms wouldn hold pose as well and the backpacks would fall out. My diff was a pretty tight LSD when I first converted to manual. It isn't anymore..

yeah i drive like a old lady when my daughter and fiancée are in the car but the power and skid problem has happened after i changed the head gasket from composite to mls but i did notice however a exhaust leak its the gasket between the two pieces of the cast manifold which has gotten worse could that sudden loss in back pressure do it?

Yeah it's usually a bit of TLC to restore power though.
Exhaust gasket leaks aren't too healthy. I use a smear of goo on the steel gasket just to make sure.

will do just normal gasket stuff or is there a high temp stuff i also have hylomar if thats any good?
also getting the gasket from ford tomorrow
