Cheers

Sad news.
This evening on my way home from work I hit a small greasy patch coming into a left hand bend, understeered and somehow ended up hitting the guard rail with the left hand side of the car. Will post up pics of it. Left side is officially f**k. So dam angry.

So I what I might do is pick the car up from the holding yard, pay towing expense, strip the car down and do a transplant job. Just need another ef sedan to play with.

So looking for one at the moment. Strapped for cash so looking for one CHEAP, with a straight body, no rust or hasn't been in a bingle, and with paint that'll come up nice after a polish.

I'll post up more about it when I know further and get more pictures as I am going back there tomorrow.

This a personally sad day for me since I have put alot of time, money and effort into this car, it is my first pride and joy and an awesome car to drive.

Cheers fellas.
Sam.

Bugger mate, sorry to hear about the prang. Hope you have better luck finding a replacement.
Just wanted to ask, how did you set up those twin dumpies and what size are they? Did you just weld them up yourself or what?

Thanks guys. I will definately drive alot safer in those conditions. It was a short time after a small shower where the road still has some small damp patches. There was a reasonable dry spell before the shower and I reckon there would have been a fair chance of some oil on the road too. It was a pissy little damp patch but that's all it took. And it's one of those corners too where it's a small incline and midway through the bend it levels out sorta making the car lift as you go round.

Massive learning curve though but f**k I was ropeable. If anyone drives the traralgon-tyers road they will see where I hit the guard rail on the left at latrobe river as your heading toward tyers.

Cheers.

they are from autobarn mate. And yeah I just cut it to suit diameter of the exhaust pipe and chucked two small welds on it. Filled it out quite nicely.

f**k man. Nick showed me the pics last night.
that whole section of road sucks.
i put my Escort into a ditch on that road, other end though, coming from Tyers and turning onto that road.
got insurance?
might be better off trying to find a Futura/Fairmont, something a little better specced than a Gli to start with again.

Yeah it's now deemed officially a C*** road. Yeah I want something cheap. Even if the motor is shagged I'll just use mine because I'm going to buy it back off them and get all the gear out of it for the next ef. Reason for wanting another ef is that I have an ef xr6 manual ecu to put in when I convert it.

Another ef is on the cards, purely and simply because I don't want to get a loan before I'm off my P's so I can get my turbo
