here is a little update and vid clips..lol
after taking the car on a easy drive to the coast to get a few kms on the supercharger. i found its still really good on fuel. and is very efficient considering i have retarded the base timing to about 7 deg atdc to stop pinging.. so on the drive home i got the phone out to vid a little run.. its making 9psi at 5000 rpm at this point the afr shoots off to the lean position so i back off at this point.. 1st vid is a first gear burst with a change into 2nd http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AsKyRk5lOts 2nd vid is 2nd gear after turning a corner.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRCT_hlF9r0 |

Bet it sounds alot better in the car in real life. Phone video arent the best, no matter how "good" the phone is. Looks like it should go really well, once the tune is sorted. I wouldn't be giving it to much curry if i were you, till it's sorted properly.

yes troy it does sound alot better cruzing down the motor way and the way the raptor boosted up sounfd great alot different from the vortek on mine

well....
i got my car back from being dyno tuned this afternoon.. unfortunatly not quite the result that i was expecting.. there are still a few issues.. first issue is what seems to be a possible boosting problem?? its not hitting 10psi.. at all. and the ba xr6t injectors are still over fueling with heaps of fuel pulled out while being tuned. and it was suffering a little wheel spin on the dyno which may contribute to the result.. anyway the result so far is 175rwkw so in a week or so ill be fitting the std au injectors, and re dyno'd and tuned.. i think it can get a fair bit more out of it.. as before the tune, while it was pinging and leaning out it seemed to have a fair bit more grunt than it does now.. |

Troy, i had the same problem a while back. Try the TL magna 4cly injectors. There bigger again than the au, pick and steal more has miles of magnas. Your running a rising fuel reg yeah? what ratio? Have you upgraded your fuel pump?
Sorry can't be bothered reading back and i can't remember Oh btw its 7 deg BTDC, not ATDC. Had to rub it in

OH, and i used a brake booster one way valve to cut boost pressure to the map. You just need a really tiny bleed hole to let the vacuum vent between it and the map, cheap and effective solution.

Had to rub it in um no rising rate reg just the au vct reg. and the fuel pump is a walbro 255. actually before the tune i had to set the base timing (el ecu)at aproxx 7 deg atdc to stop the pinging..thats right after.. not before..lol now the base timing is set to factory with about 5 deg removed under boost.. |

It wouldn't idle at 7deg, i think your balancer may have slipped cause at that reading the piston would be have way down the compression stroke before full ignition. What ecu do you have? maybe consider getting a rising reg for that extra fuel pressure when your on boost.

What ecu do you have? maybe consider getting a rising reg for that extra fuel pressure when your on boost. well it idled ok but was very week and was sluggish until it made boost.. im running an el ghia ecu with the std reg.. at the moment joe@cms said its still a bit to rich.. so he recomends using the au 20lb ones and see what happenes.. i havnt got the dyno sheet of him yet..and he didnt say what afr was except its still a bit to rich..? |
