Yup, but im not keen on msns
as for coolant, all you need is the brass adapter from a carby XF inlet manifold (they ran the same coolant temp sensor as commo for EST) this will adapt GM coolant to Ford thread (XF runs same coolamt temp as E series)

I was thinking of leaving the ford one in place to run the dash temperature gauge and for timing until I get around to hooking up the full msns gear. What have you got against the msns ?

Jipped! I just ordered 2 from glens garage the other day for a bit more than that... How much was shipping ?

Don't know how I got Jipped!!! The kit I got has all parts and CNC case for $130 with $17 post $197Aus via Paypal.. Was gonna go for partial kit But then I have to piss about to get the other bits that I don't have lying around. Stuff like the DB37 PCB connector aren't lying around at Jaycar :x Plus I'd rather be playing with the unit than still cutting out holes in a case, but I guess It depends on how you want to install it???

Hehehe sorry dude.. miss-read that one..

And I'm thinking on the wiring side of things to go down to Nick-a-part with some cutters and get some in-line plugs with cabling so I can just cut the wires I need and fit the plugs so that I can easily plug MS in and out..
I need the car to get to work so I want to be able to change a couple of plugs and have it running on the EEC IF things don't go well..
Just an  you guys might like to try.

3 Wires..

OC, GND, IC - they are marked on the actual ignitor.

Coil1/Ignitor 1
OC - connects to the coil input #1
GND - err, connects to ground! :D
IC - connects to the MS coil output #1

Coil1/Ignitor 2
OC - connects to the coil input #2
GND - err, connects to ground! :D
IC - connects to the MS coil output #2

Coil1/Ignitor 3
OC - connects to the coil input #3
GND - err, connects to ground! :D
IC - connects to the MS coil output #3

I'm not sure if the MS lets you define dwell, but these are good for around 4.5ms :)

Cheers

Heres a diagram from MoTeC which gives you a similar idea.

I suppose its a personel thing, but im not keen on the software, and the fact that you have to have your input trigger advanced a heaps i.e 40deg for the ECU to delay its output to effectivly retard timing to your desired settings, im not keen on doing it this way, it works, but i think id rather wait till MSII
Yeah, youd be better off using your stocko sensors in later model stuff i reckon, are you planning on piggy backing it? i think id be inclined to piggy back MS and control fuel only, this way the BB manifold and all the other s**t still works fine, and maybe look into MSnEdis, although youd need to grab a edis6 module from the states or maybe hack into the stocko EF ECU as Edis is intergrated onto the ECU board

Yeah I'm planning to piggy back and retain as many of the EECV features as possible. I assume the BBM will still function, but if not I reckon I can get around that with the shiftlight feature in the msns (as much as I'd like to use it as a shiftlight) with the output hooked to a relay driving a solenoid to directly operate the BBM switch over. That's interesting what you say about the timing advance, I haven't looking into it that far yet... Brad has acquired a cache of EDIS6 modules here and has become the official distributor of them :)

Thanks for that PDF Brad. There are no mention of MS coil outputs 1, 2 and 3 in the MS wiring diagram but I guess those connections must be tied up with the extra msns addon hardware side of things...

Has anyone noticed the fuel injector calculator seems a bit out ? My engine is making about 300 flywheel HP and it reckons I need 30lb/hr injectors, yet I'm doing fine with my stock 19lb so far and still running a bit rich...

Well in that diagram theres nothing at all referring to spark output.

Ah, yes, wrong diagram
I was looking at the coil/tach terminal... so what are going to connect to for that in an EF ?
