if i need to replace eather or both do they need to come from a xh ute?

Find the blanking resistor (near the Airbag module, behind the fuse panel) pull it out and put it back in to it's plug.
The blanking resistor doesn't look the same as the EL PAB blanking one.

If you look at the ECU loom near the ECU, there are a couple of resistors/diodes which look similar to the XH blanking resistor taped to the loom a few inches from the ECU plug.
