hey guys, had a customer come in today asking for aftermarket coils for an XR6 turbo conversion. both me and my boss were stumped. dont know of anyone who makes them. customer said every now and again when his car comes on boost, its burns a coil. now his after an aftermarket replacement. said he could find splitfire coils for it, boss had a look for half an hour on the net and came up with nothing. so just wondering if anyone does them? just so i can get them in for him. thanks guys.

I wonder if he is buying the NEWEST edition of coils to replace or getting OLD stock? Ford has been supplying the updated coils for more than a year now and I have noticed that a few places on Ebay are selling the OLD part numbered ones.

Yep they are, BA/BF.

Maybe the new FG coils would be better? they use the BAF 12A366 A for LPG FG and BG 12A366 A for the standard and turbos

hmm no1 told me about that, be good if i thought about that, i could have put fg ones in.. but maybe the plug is differnt so it might not plug in? ahh well looks like some more research is needed as to fitting fg coils into a ba/bf.

There's always next time and there will be a next time. Now you've got more time to look around.

ahhh im hating myself for just getting the stockos now, only 150 for all 6, and the weaponx are 400 but still they look awesome, give u better spark too and more torque and power, not a neccesary item to pull power on a 6 turbo, but still would definately be an advantage!

theres a big thread about those "weaponX" coils over on fordxr6turbo.
basic gist was, snake oil.
all the big banger 8, 9 and 10 second cars are running genuine coils.
