well my system in my opinion sounds tough as all hell, and when u decelerate the popping backfiring(but not like an actual backfire its nnot as loud) noise is very simnilar to a v8 supercar under engine braking (not identical, but the popping is very similar) from inside the car at least, heard my car the other day being driven without me in it and it sounded real tough

ok, how many People out there would have straight through exhausts with 100Db plus if it was legal to do so, now compare that number to how many people out there ride harleys

I'm on my Ps, have a Lukey 2.5" with one muffler.
Had a few cops follow me over a km or 2, and never been puled yet. Just dont give it a squirt too often in the obvious places eg main drag. |

Harleys s**t me to tears with the exhaust you hear 20km away... seems like double standards... and i dont give a s**t about the number of cars vs bikes either...

i got a mecury 2.5 with one straight through muffler mandrel bends brand new for 190..installed myself
im in love with it, not as loud as i origionaly wanted ...but i supose its a good thing the idle purrr makes me sticky everytime...lol sorry.... and its as quiet as a factory just deaper and ballsyer have yet to give it a proper bootfull but i like it so far highly reccomended, noticable diffrence and is pretty much a cop repelant sorry my 2 c |

Erm, I have a lukey system that is 2.5" bent mandrel, sounds sweet but is considerably quiet.
Still duel muffler system. Standard extractors and cat at this point also. I have a mate with an EF with 2.5" single muffler and it's louder, but not illegal loud. |

just two factors to think about the exhuasat must have a muffler box and a resonator and the sound must not be 88. something dbl but in saying that my exhaust is a home job only a signal redback box no dramas for me....

jjohnno go to Tuffy Toned at Waterloo if your around the Eastern Suburb area, thats where i got mine done 2.5" Cat-back, pretty loud, nice purrrrrrr sound also

I picked up a set of 4499's, modified factory cat and redback 2.5 mandrel bent straight through muffler, for $150 from my local wrecking yard, all components were in near new condition, except for the cat wich i replaced with a 2.5 cat from a daewoo cielo!?

Our modded cars Vs Harley's have nothing to do with it. Its partly that the harley exhaust is like that Factory, and has obviously passed australian standards at some point, even if thats different to each state's individual laws. Our beloved 2.5 sports exhausts are just that, and aftermarket sports upgrade, hence why we get targeted more harshly by the boys in blue.
The other part is the majority of cops dont have the balls to pull over a bikie
