Of course it chews more LPG then petrol. That's an absolute given. The only reason LPG is better on the pocket is the price per litre compared to petrol.

You really need to own and drive an injected LPG car before you can knock it. I'd don't know how you can knock having almost the same power, yet costing less then half to run.

Some good advise there, injected LPG car's are way ahead of the old mixer setups in power & economy. I get good economy with injected gas in my 5spd EB, and good power too. Cheaper than a 4cyl on petrol to run as well.

As has been said, it's all dependant on your driving style too.
I put about $85 per week of premium in, get's me about 550 k's. And that's only giving it a fair go for about 1-2k per day.

But one day out of curiosity i decided too this whenever possible too see the comparison in usage. Didn't even get 300 k's.
So if you don't drive like a prick, even though it's a 6 cyl, it's not that bad on fuel.
My two cents.

Cheers

LPG makes my car cheaper to run than the old KH 1.8 EFI Laser I have in the shed, not by much but its still cheaper. The laser is fun to drive tho being a smaller car and a manual but I prefer my BA Egas Auto driving to work and back.... Much more comfy :D

ive been wondering this too i had a vs commodore and am now looking at a BA xt and is there that much between the two one being 3.8 and the other 4.0? i was fine with the commo but from what i hear the falcons are even more thirsty????
thanks

I get better fuel economy out of my 1995 EF than my mum does out of her 2000 VX Commodore.. That's just one example, but I wouldn't say Falcons are more thirsty than Commodores.

Got a BA mk2 xr6 turbo, 6 speed man with 125kms, and like i said driving style makes the difference- if i drive like a moron i can get 19l/100km, but if i use my right foot gently, without granny shifting can get 11l/100km which isnt too bad, and thats in pretty crappy city traffic, rarely get out on the highways

In the wagon on a full tank of gas and a Light Foot around town I'll get about 650 to 680 before the fuel light comes on. If I drive with a Heavy foot over the same roads I can get that milage down to about 500 to 550 before the light comes on. It all comes down to how hard you are on the pedal as to how far you will get on a tank. First thing I would check is the Air Filter and the O2 sensor. If the O2 sensor is dodgy then the car will drink like its being driven with pedal nailed to the floor :(
