if my car made 315 rwkw what engine kw should i badge the car with?
the car made 200rwkw (245fwkw claimed) so a ratio of 1.225 315rwkw x 1.225 = 385kw does this sound right???? it sounds huge... i didnt want to claim rwkw as i want those silly HSV's to be able to compare apples with apples

Iv always wondered what mine would be at the engine now. If I use your formula
157kw engine and 105kw at the wheel = 1.495 154rwkw x 1.495 = 230kw at the engine. I doubt it works like that though

i thought the ratio was more like 1.31..??
that would make 183rwkw = 240 engine kw?? which would make it aprox 25% loss through driveline.. if that was correct 315rwkw = 412 engine kw.. i dont think the formula is 100% because i cant see a 1000kw engine loose 250kw through the driveline... ive seen a few 100% stock ba xr6t's run 180 ish rwkw, and they were rated at 240 engine kw... a stock xr6 whould normally run 123rwkw.. = 164 a stock ef would normally run about 117rwkw. =157 a stock ed would run about 108rwkw.. = 145 |

Just put 700kw on it.
If you are going to stick gay badges on your car you may as well go all out.  I'd go 360kw if its a manual. 15% drivetrain loss sounds good if you like being conservative. It'd suck to claim too much and get beaten. |

I found something interesting.... a HSV W427 has 375kw and puts out 295rwkw

who knows, all i know is that a new CAN has been opened
 all i can say is that, different drive lines are going to have different loss ratios so you can only compare t5 to t5, btr to btr, t56 to t56 and zf to zf... a HSV W427 has 375kw and puts out 295rwkw this pretty much tells me what i need to know

How many KM on the engine/drivelines in question? my vct engine has 117,000 on the engine, 400,000 on the gearbox.. a little comparison, my mrs au has 230.000km on engine,box and diff..it made 105 rwkw on lpg.. xcabbi's au with about 800,000km on lpg made 107rwkw.. so i guess kms are not really realivent.. |
