With such low K's a dealer would try sell it for around $8000 to $9000, but trade in value you would great much less say around $5000?

If you were to sell it private you wouldnt have no chance of selling it for $8000 to $9000. If you were to get $6000 to $7000 your doing really well but IMO you will struggle to get $4000 to $5000 you will get some offers for the $3000 mark.

A mate recently brought a 96 el xr6 from dealer in stock form for $7000.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Michael

bring it up to qld.

Seriously, f**k up here want $8000 for fairmont ghias with 250000+kays in average condition, $6000 for normal fairmonts in the same condition.

Depends on the buyer, but I would say $4000 with those kays, more if you're prepared to wait and its in good condition.

yeh there doesnt seem to be much difference in price regards of k's i honestly couldnt let it go for less than 7500. considering most bas for sale these days have more than the ks i have i bought it with 112 from the second owner which was a older lady and has full sevice history all fluids changed well before due and i just put a manual in it and full exhaust cai and i just did a head gasket and full set of lifters

$7500 no f**k way..... be realistic, you will get $4,000 or less private sale, maybe a little more if you wait months for the right buyer, or you will get a 2k max trade-in at a car yard.

and dont go by the d***head prices on carsales, they think because they paid $40 for an ad, that their s**t smells nice and their 12 year old falcon is the bomb diggity.....

what will actually help sell a fairmont for more than $4000 (apart from obviously being very clean):
- One owner
- Full Log Books
- Low kays

Manual conversion may or may not depending upon the buyer; the other work won't as it's just maitenance.

I'd say 4k, though most people would still want it as an auto!
