short and simple question. Do EF's have speed limiters or do they just run out of grunt at 180km?

Yes, they are speed limited. A stock EF 4L will stop producing power before 180km (as seen on a dyno in 4th).

and theres no way id take an ef over 180.... LOL
u start hearin s**t, like little squeaks and rattles. plays with ur head...
btw while we r on the subject of speed limiters... what does a v8 nf lane stop at??

some one told me to day that EF dont have limiters they just run out of grunt at 180

my CFI EA used to do 220 on gas lol... till the previous owner thrashed the living s**t out of it and now it struggles to reach 130 :(

Close. A stock EF, Auto and 3.08 s/s winds out at 213km/h (or at least mine did)

Standard, they are limited to 180, but it is easy to get around. I was young and stupid, and removed the limiter om my EF. I have since obtained some common sense, and have re-installed the limiters on that EF. If you try it, you will feel it just back off at 180. The ED's that were speed limited are quite violent when they hit the limiter.

I'd say my 5spd EF would run out to 250 pretty easy - it pulls in 5th from 100 to 180 without trying, and it sits on bout 3500 on the limiter.

on normal roads i wudnt want to go any faster than 180 unless i was driving in the opposite direction of where a nuke was going to go off (unlikely)

yeh my ef hits 180.. not my cup of tea but. wudnt wana go any faster, they obviously have a limiter for a reason... and id say that it would be cos they arent built to go over 180kays...
