Hi Guys,
I'm trying to find a part and its number 9 in this pic. Can anybody tell me the name of the part and where I might find one? For an EF Falcon 6 Cylinder Manual. It just says on picture it's a Bracket. Tried to find it everywhere on the net and can't find it, I'm chasing as I'm having trouble with my cable, I know there's a possibility that the cable is getting worn/frayed so I may have to replace it. Yes I've got a moded firewall and even my clutch pin has been repaired on the pedal box. Have also purchased the clutch fork arm insulator from Dellow Clutch Conversions. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Grant.

No idea. One would assume along the lines of a "clutch cable guide/bracket"

Is that Diagram from your model of car?
The Post ADR37 comment has me thinking its actually an XF Diagram. The XF Falcon had pre and post ADR37 I believe, where Pre did not have Cat's, and Post did. When the Cat was introduced, they moved the Clutch Cable to the other side of the car so It wouldnt get melted. Of course, we had been cooking those cables since *way* before then. Any car with Extractors would melt/Soften the Outer Cable and render the clutch useless. My last EF was factory manual and had the bracket

Any car with Extractors would melt the Cable <Pre ADR37>. So XD, XE, XF. Moving the cable to the Passenger side simply fixed a problem that was already there. I am aware that the issue was mostly fixed for E Series hence my comment, although I have managed to make a few cables go cludgy as well on my EB. Perhaps that was a combination of the work on the Engine, and the Injected LPG.
Glad youve not done a cable yet. |

Sorry might have put up the wrong pic. Pretty sure this one's for the pre (EF/EL) Still shows the guide bracket.

No signs of melting near the extractors that I can see. I just think that there cables do break, wear and fray pretty quickly. I'm just simply trying to eliminate any problems I may be having with the cable. I thought maybe this "guide bracket" may help in getting rid of any kinks in the cable as I have noticed it does have bend where the cable goes into the front of the bellhousing. But just outta curiosity? How did you move cable to go from the passengers side? Cheers. |

Just to let you all know, I've got an AU engine in my EF, I'm using the original gearbox with the AU bellhousing.

Never knew there was a bracket there. Anyone have the dimensions? Might make one up if I can't get my hands on one, mine seems to run into the box on a slight angle due to the final bend into the box.
