I tell you what, when I see a stock 33 GTS-T pull a 14.3 on Australian petrol, I'll shout you a beer.

Yeah they should always be on premo fuel 98 min. On normal stuff it will ping and lose power and slow a bit. Glad you like 1/4 mile its the best way to go and longer fun. Hope you have done upgrades on your brakes my fords brakes are shot after a couple of hard stops.

yeh exactly right, i'll just keep filling up my family sedan with regular unleaded.

and those skylines were turbo that i raced, nice silver front mounts or turbo noise are giveaways.

i may be up at willowbank this weekend, i'll keep an eye out for any skylines that race.

My EL (151RWKW - rather heavily modded) would have no trouble with most R33 GTS-T's. Had a mate with a modded run, was running 14psi, it was close but he couldn't pass me.

And now with the GT, 5sec flat 0-100, 13sec flat 1/4 on street tyres, something grippier would drop that a bit, fair bit of wheelspin off the line, and between gears.

Skylines, are the be all and end all of performance cars. GT-R's however.

Very true data mine. Id love a GTR. GTS-T `s are just half betweens better than no turbo but no where near GTR speed{unless modded.}That sounds like it would of been fun would of liked to of seen it. Of course a heavily modded ford will be fast but a lot of guys here seem to think that a near stock 5spd one will beat one. What have you done to your car to give it that sort of power at the wheels? what times have you ran? How does it compare to the GTP?

EL was a monster. Sold long time ago now. But at it's prime, it had

- SS inductions intake
- 3" mandrel bent intake - custom made, really short run.
- custom cam (grumpy bugger)
- hybrid head
- 1100rpm idle, 6250rpm limiter
- multi spark capacitive discharge ignition
- ECU mods (search around on FM, I did them myself, some posts on them)
- Pacemakers
- 2.5" redback system
- 3000rpm stall
- electronic shift kit
- 3.45 LSD
- Full whiteline handling kit

thirsty bugger (19L/100 around town), but quick.

Image

How does it compare to the GT - it doesn't.

The GT was faster out of the box (I'd damn well hope so), better interior, handling needed a little change (upgraded front sway bar), and that sound. V8 burble.

how did you up the rev limiter without an aftermarket ecu?

All the parts to make your own J3 chips (ala chiptorque et. al.) can be sourced from the US. Only thing you can't get is any support (unless you have a Mustang). I had to reverse engineer the ECU myself.

when i end up putting a cam in my beast, i would really like to up the limiter, while retaining the factory ecu. i'm not a piggyback chip fan.

There's only two options.

- aftermarker ecu
- piggyback/chip

The factory ECU's simply aren't tuneable.

That's certainly an option, but either way he wasn't letting me win.

(and it's an EL and a BF)

theres no point in 'upping' the rev limiter unless you get a big cam that makes the power up high, and most 'big' cams for the e-series need ecu mods or they will run like s**t.

Wade 1521a is an example, power finishes up way past the rev limiter but wont run very well without ecu mods.

Well Said EED250 33 with 14psi will have a lot more go than 151kw EL at the wheels as stockys have between 140-145rwkw standard better geared and lighter than the ford even if the 33 is in sedan form. Thanks for the info datamine your EL defantly a monster. What did all the mods cost you all up? Why did you sell the EL.? I would like to get 151KW at the wheels in my Tickford Ghia and so far ive done extractors, exhaust, intake, standard lsd, timing and i havnt dynoed it but it would have 120 Maybe at the wheels. Whats the average stock figure? What single mod gave you the biggest power boost? I would love to go for a drive in the GT-P sounds Awesome.

You're going to need a cam and headwork, that's the biggest power upgrade. (or you can turbo it - I still have the turbo kit I was going to put on the EL lying around).

This comment is totally old but this is one of the best posts I've seen.

The GTS-t crowd are always banging on about their sub 14 stock cars and it's totally unrealistic.

My mate has an R33 GTS-t with a cat back and there is no way that thing is pulling high 13's / low 14's - the thing doesn't even get close to my XR6T.
