haha nice little engine change?? will have to catch up aye have a chat see what you got on the agender plate :D
umm i not sure bout waiting for the engine to be rebuilt before i chuck a cam in,
but i don't wanna out the cam in before the drags wanna see what its like how it sits also because going from the ea guttles motor to xr motor will be a step up in it self but once i get use to i'll probably be all for the cam bro so proabably be a chrismas present for myself lol.....

ann i m only reallly having a good run at working on it after work 10.30-11.30pm
but yeah when i need a hand i'll give you a buzz bloke cheers

anyways back to the progress-
pulled most the interiea out tonight just gotta do dash an roof linning an the rest of the little plastic bits an door cards....

cheers Dan
ones thats done... bring on the wire loom removal....

by the looks of things as of now i should be getting the xr motor this saturday if nothing pops up or if there isn't any drama with getting it out, an then the rest of the interia out of it including an imaculate roof lining, (which is good beacaue mine is only held up by your head pretty much lol....

an sunday i'll be getting door internails, ef manual ecu (fingers crossed) bits an peaces of the dash, an bits an peices of the engine an loom i need to replace on my ef thats missing or broken

anyways thats bout all the up date i can give atm,

just to finish it off a pic's of the car how it is sitting atm

ok, not much tonight,

but i did do something...
pullled the ea dash out, rest of the interia an heater box
an left side engine loom.
did this with some help of mates, made life a little easyer

how ever, i dunno how to get the right side out, considering cutting it :/ not sure if i wanna though even though i won't use it again...

anways i have realised a few things,
1. how do you set up the hand break with ef lever but keeping ea set up with out going ef brakes an things
2. need to change the pedel box? i think to fit the dash in
3. not sure yet lol im sure something will pop up though

any info on either of though's two things would be muchly appreciated

cheers, Dan

The handbrake setup is a PITA. I drove with no handbrake for at least 6 months. LOL.

I ended up having the EF-EL handbrake brackets welded on to my EB wagon diff.

In my sedan, I installed a diff from an EF XR6.

To mount the handle, I just bolted it to the EB floor. To run the cable from the handle to under the car, you need to identify where the hole in the floor is on the EF and then drill/cut one in the EA.

Cheers

cheer's benj

yeah i can see that im getting one of my older mates to come around an look at the hand break set up to see what we can do so it works...

i got the hand break lever in easy just had to source one because since i used the floor pan out of the blue ef i just had to bolt it in

also for me me to put the dash in i kno i gotta make that sorta right angle braket for the bottom right an left side mounts but for the bolts that go from the dash to under the cluster/ steering wheel. (pedle box?) do i need to find an ef one for that? because i think i m able to grabe one of a mate hopefully.

cheers Dan

EA EB1 didn't have the floor mount bracket on top of the tranny hump.

I just left it out in my Wagon as it is an EB1.

Up to you to make one up.

Cheers

im opposite to ben, im using the center bracket (mines a NC II) but im not using the side ones. bens using the side ones but not the center.

as for the brake setup, if your using an EF pedal box all will bolt up fine. im still using my factory one so i had to cut the pins off the EF dash as they bolt up different (EA-ED bolts are on the pedal box, EF/EL are on the dash) but im also still using the factory steering column

Are you referring to where the tie rod ends bolt to the suspension upright?

If so, you need to loosen the nut, but leave it on the thread, then use a large screwdriver/jack handle/piece of pipe, and apply some downwards pressure, then belt the end of the upright where the tie rod end goes through with a BIG hammer.

Cheers
BenJ

Could be a smartlock issue.

What ECU are you using?

And what ignition barrell?

If you moved all of the EL Wiring over to the EA, you also need to use the EL ignition barrel etc.
