áhh ok yeah fair enough, with the light you can be a tight a** like myself and just do the resistor trick on the back of the cluster and just use the temp guage, but its def not a bad thing to have the coolant sensor in there anyway and it is def the "right way"to do it.
When you drop the rear are you going to just reset the s**t out of the leafs to match the front or will you throw some blocks in there first then reset the springs a little bit?
I found without blocks and really flattened out springs the body starts hitting the diff bumpstop as soon as you put any passengers/ weight in the back (depending on how low it goes of course)
I now have to put poly airs in the back otherwise it kind of hops about the joint with people in the back and going over bumos ect.
Just a thought incase you you wanted to drop it a fair bit in the rear.

I'm gonna get the rear re-set- It will only ever have my 2 kids in the rear so its not a huge weight to worry about. It has blocks in it atm, only 2" blocks tho cos the 2.5" blocks made the tailshaft scrape on the floor every bump. I wanna get it set how low it looks it the pic when the body is sitting on the gutter. But i just dont think the misses will appreciate driving it that low. So until i buy her another car it has to stay this height in the rear. The Coolant sensor should be a simple plug and play (hopefully) and will be better for road trips. I like your Wagon and def a fan of your old wagon too!

Hopefully, the place that resets your springs should add in an additional leaf to stiffen the rear slightly as well.

I have std wagon springs with a load helper leaf, and 2.5" blocks. This only leaves a bit over an inch before the bump stop over the pinion is used, and with more than two people in the car the tail shaft rubs the floor under throttle.

I have now sourced some Ute springs and will see how these go.

Ordered a Variable Shift Kit today for the wags and have had all my coolant hoses arrive ready to be installed next Thursday when the New Fuel Pump goes in as well.

Also have a blue Led T10 for the Tbar Lights to match the rest of the dash colors- currently on the look out for the conversion to make the air-con and other orange lights blue.

does your wagon have ABS? if not it wont have the plug for the low coolant sensor.
i have super lows in the front and i think 1.5" blocks in my wagon. i found the fronts too low, keep scraping gutters when parking and scraping my mud guards on speed bumps.

Look at the tutorial for changing clusters, in the tech doco section. It tells you which wire to add for the coolant sensor. From memory, one wire from the sensor goes to the cluster, and the other wire is grounded. Pop the bulb into the cluster and you're set.

If the car has ABS, it will have the high spec engine bay loom. This includes the plug, but when I added the sensor to my old EF, that wire was not continued through into the dash loom. It was easy to just run the wire myself.

Good thinking adding the sensor too, I wouldn't run an E-Series without one. Saved me once when a hose went.

Had new radiator installed, and replaced most hoses. Now having gear box troubles but will have a second hand box with 130k's installed on wednesday. Just gotta hope it lasts till then. Once the new box is installed the Shift Kit will be installed. Then its all on hold for a month or so cos of holidays and family commitments.

Looking at the pics, it looks like it has ABS.
Cruise control will be an easy install as well.

Hey guys,

not much has happened to this of late due to having heaps of work and family commitments however there will be a motor swap happening on this by the end of next month when an au motor goes in. This motor is going into the sedan i recently bought for the misses- then once we move back up north the sedan is being sold to buy a FG XR6. We have taken one (rental car) for a return trip of 1500k's a few weeks ago and was very happy with it then we went to the lions geelong game saturday night in brisy and managed to get the same car again. Very happy with the car overall and once the prices drop below 30k for one we like then we are buying one.

Been a while since updated- only really put white mirrors on it as well as the instrument cluster, air con and switches in blue leds.

which black mouldings are you talking bout?

the cam was done the same day as the air intake- there was a noticable change in it- however the car wasnt running 100% before or after ( had a leak in the rubber line running off the injector rail) but yeah it is def better than stock. was a cheap mod and i recommend it but next time i will go bigger and run a j3 chip. Thats once i get back to melbourne tho.
