getting the barra to work in any other car is a peice of piss.. especially in a older car.
at the end of the day it a combustion engine that needs a crank signal to supply trigger for spark and injector timing a fuel pump ect... thats it.. use a aftermatrket ecu with e series or au sensors and the rest of the hocus pocus gets thrown in the bin, most people go for the barra engine as a retro fit for a power upgrade, so no need for the factory ecu, fly by wire throttle, and duel vct is really only there for economy and emissions..

Yeah it would just be a long motor run off an aftermarket ECU, original speedo could be run off the C4. Fixed cam timing, unless any ECU's can now handle the VCT (haven't looked at the latest ECU's yet). 302 would be easier, but I'm a six man, always have been :D

yeah ditch the drive by wire, put an au throttle body on and run whatever engine management you want. Fixed cam timing will work ok, you could also get some custom grind cams and run fixed timing, VCT with aftermarket ecu/controller is also doable. main issue with the ba6 would be engine height

You can have a factory ecu modified to run in an older falcon, and strip what you don't need from the loom. There's more than one way to make it work!

Cheers

I have a 250 crossflow and 5 speed out of an xf in my xk the engine mounts are a fixture of different models(I can't remember exactly) and the gearbox has a custom cross member made up. The motor is a tight squeeze but a vs commodore radiator and thermo's are the plans for mine because the clutch fan that was originally on the motor stuck out way too far I dunno if it helps but a few guys have done similar setups

hey guys.. followed this thread the whole time he was building it... after many months working s**t out an designing stuff as well as finiding things i'll need i come up with the following :) its cost me about $3000 just for the manifold (from snort performance), fuel rail, joiners, ram tubs, throttle bodies its not totally set up an running yet but its very close.. i also have a reconditioned performance head from hoppers head services, bigger intake/exhaust valves. port job to 40mm intake exhaust is bigger then standard, have a 977b wade cam, i think it had about 60thou off the head, au head gasket, stronger/stiffer springs..
