yes i realise this however because of the grill, which has plastic behind it the snorkel will be pointless. .

ALL EF/EL Fairmont Bonnets have NO hole behind the grill.

The snorkel from factory goes up over the top of the radiator, and collects air entering from between the bonnet and the radiator support panel.

Right on, BenJ.

If cash is tight, go for the EL GT snorkel (the part number is EFTVE 9A624 A) or the AU Tickford snorkel with minor adjustment (see documents.php?d=31). Last I heard, they went for about $75 from Ford. Less, if you can find one at a wrecker or on ebay.

If money is no object, go for an SS Inductions CAI008 - it flows much more than even an EL GT snorkel and at least twice the volume of a stock EL Fairmont one.

hey there they sell big mouth AU intakes on ebay for about $50 or pick up a stock one for $5, pod filters are ok but unless you box them with a snorkel / fresh air supply they only suck the same hot air, imo grab a snorkel and a decent filter (K&N can be had for @ $70 delivered on ebay) people will wank on about them but it made a difference to mine even if it made more induction noise - i'm happy - don't be put off by some of the comments you cop some members aren't very forgiving on newbies, good luck with it dude 8-)

Or go buy a BA XR6T snorkel from Ford for $40. Same as the AU tickford snorkel.
