So what im after is some inspiration on some nice looking engine bays, mostly interested in the early e-series

id only paint the rocker cover and then stick to the alloy and black, or if it can be done (by me) crome and black will have to see

wanna buy my staino intake ?

i cut the bend off at the box to run a panel again but can weld it back on if your running a pod, though you will have to do something to get the 3" tube through the box.

at least you know its reliable lol

10,000,000km wouldn't make a difference to the manifold unless it had a hole in it.
if you want one for the log it could be arranged, and half the price!

Just had a quick look in your gallery and saw the engine bay..

First thing came to mind was.. Paint the rocker cover
Second thing.. Polish the fuel rail

Then just give the engine a bit of a clean up with degreaser, spray the airbox and snorkel and any other plastic parts that would look good in a black gloss and it should be looking sweet

If you can afford it and you want to, HPC the headers or just coat them in a high temp header paint

why would you bother polishing a cad plated mild steel fuel rail ! ? it's like saying yer atmosphere please oxidise a hole in my presurised volatile fuel storage area.

if you do polish it's recommended to clear coat but keep in mind no paint will adhere fantastically to polished surfaces.

best bet is bead blasting & priming (too many people forget the prep) and colour co-ordinating imho. or just jet coat everything but i don't supose you've won lotto recently ?
