It really does help though! Maybe you could mock up some type of cover for all the red spaghetti? I'd also be interested in making an EF/EL alternator work in the EB too, mines still got the original lol...

I got new tyres on Thursday.
 Yokohama A-Drive in 205-65/R15. The 225's were a little out of my price range. The 205's were $112 each and the 225's were over $30 extra each. They are 100% better than All Rounders. Better steering, braking, smoother ride and they don't squeal like a piggy around car parks. They also look a little bit wider. The thermo fans are still going strong.

Well the engine is getting a bit tired and stalling when pushed, so I've decided to replace it with a new one. Of course you would have guessed I am talking about my 1981 Rover Craftsman lawnmower.
 This morning I pulled the old motor off which took all of 30 mins. Then I scraped off all the grass and gave it a nice wash too.   All ready for its new heart:  Some people might think it's silly re-powering a mower, but it holds a certain sentimental value because it was passed down to me from my Father. And for $159 delivered, it's cheaper than a decent mower. And I pick up an extra 0.25 BHP (Blade Horsepower)  evxr6 wrote: The thermo fans are still going strong. Not much going on with the car as it is behaving itself lately. So, it has earned itself an oil change this weekend and some new rear brake pads and rotors shortly after that.
I had to rescue my mate's Patrol as he left his fridge on minus 10 all day leaving him with a flat battery  Having a shed is good and all, but having a sturdy workbench is even better. Much better than using trestle tables anyway. I got some 40 x 40 x 2.5mm RHS in through work and ended up with this:   Would you believe there is over 11m of steel in that baby? The top came in the other day. 6mm mild steel plate. That means I can hit it with a hammer and it won't deflect and hook the welder up to it and have a good earth. And this came in the mail:   Fitted it up and together with a blade sharpen, it now works beautifully.  Cheers, Evan.

Tonight I got rid of the broken MTX rear speakers and dropped some working Response Precision 6.5" kevlars in the hole.
 Same idea as before except this time they work lol.  No one would ever think twice:  And good for the instant gratification generation, it took like 45 mins to swap over. Cheers, Ev.

I have been a lurker of this car for a long time now
I like the new water pump install !!!! even though the car looks sexy as and has alot of work done to it i like it p.s that cat back is a performance one and by the looks of the flange at the rear joining the tail pipe a "high priced" one at that |

If you drive something everyday, it just is a car you know. Do you mean the water pump thing way back on page one? I was so proud.

I would say that they are on par with many "name brand" speakers. Mate of mine recommended them to me as a budget upgrade. $89.95.

I may need to re read your entire thread as im having memory blanks as i was in hospital reading it Hmm how would you rate the tweeter as i listen to alot of acoustic etc and like high pitch sounding speakers |

If the speakers weren't installed in 1992 and worn out, I probably wouldn't fiddle around with stereo stuff. I like the lower frequencies more, hence the 12" woofer in the back. Anyway, my mate Andrew and I replaced the front brake hoses on the 323 this arvo. The old ones had a split in the outer sheath and since I've had the replacement ones in the shed for about 6 months, it was time for them to go in. I asked him about the lower control arm bushes as the left side is a bit creaky. He said that they were f**k. Oh well, they are $85 a set off fLeabay. Looks pretty easy to replace them. We also tried to test the throttle position sensor to try and sort out the bloody rough idle. Spec says 1K ohm at closed throttle and 5K ohm at WOT. Trouble is that my meter tops out at 400 ohm, dammit! With the TPS unplugged it idles up a bit and driving it is pretty fun because the auto defaults to WOT so it holds gears to 4000 RPM and kicks down immediately. So, tomorrow I will test the TPS with a more suitable meter. Hopefully it's faulty and the spare one is not. Cheers, Evan.

I tested the tps with my cheaper meter and it read around 800 ohms instead of 1000. Luckily, the spare one tested ok. I swapped them over and it has solved the rough idle that I have been trying to solve for about 4 years.
I ordered a front suspension bush kit for it too. Should be here sometime next week.
